Proverbs 23:4 -5, “Labour not to be rich: stop from thine own knowledge. Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle towards heaven.” (4) Gaming motivates careless financial investment of God-given resources. See Matthew 25:14 -30. If gaming is “fun” and “satisfaction” to you, you already have your benefit.
What Does The Bible Say About Gambling
Or are we going to foolishly risk everything on the fleeting lusts and enjoyments of this world? Which would you prefer: Caesars Palace with its glitter and lustful enjoyments and the friends of this world? Or a cool forested hideaway with clean air and water, with a few of the Eternals individuals? Lot took the popular plain of Sodom, while Abraham took the sparsely inhabited hills.
Compulsive bettors can conquer their fixation with betting by and through the power of the Almighty. Betting is a curse, carefully associated with gangsterism, prostitution, theft, narcotics, and drunkenness. Is it right for people to take advantage of the lusts and greedy appetites of others? Is it best to toss cash down a rat hole, for no useful function aside from “entertainment”? To try to get free ride, without working for it? NO! Betting is the opposite of love.
Gods method is among offering and sharing. Casinos exist to take your money, attempting to make it look like painless as possible. True love is to give and share. A truthful days work for truthful salaries. Constructive, honest and efficient labor builds character. Gambling develops desire, greed, cheating, and selfishness.
Any “charity” that turn to gambling for fund raising is wrong. Stay away from all kinds of gaming. Labor honestly for efficient wealth. Wisely utilize your resources for the Eternals services. Do not be a loser. Don’t bet. Unfortunately, in our day this diligent and meticulous nature is all however gone from the Church. And the Scriptural principles are secondary to the “higher good.” While it holds true that the Bible does not clearly forbid lottos, betting or betting, it does provide sufficient proofs that these forms of gambling are of the flesh carnal, and not something that the conscientious Christian must delight in.
